International Driving Permit

The International Translation of Foreign Driver’s License is intended to overcome the difficulties drivers may have while travelling by car in foreign countries that may have widely varying Drivers license requirements.

On September 19, 1949, the United Nations established the International Driver`s License to allow motorists to travel in foreign countries. Language barriers create difficulties for both motorists and police. This document establishes the right for a person to drive in another country.

International Driver License is printed in 8 languages: the five United Nations official languages (English, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese) as well as German and Arabic. It is also easy to apply for and does not require taking a driving test.

When you drive in some foreign countries, you are required to poses both: International Drivers License and your Native Drivers Licences.

The International Driving Permit is recognized worldwide as a valuable document identifying you as a properly licensed resident. No test is required, but you must have a valid Native Drivers Licence and be 18 years of age or older.

IDL.ME.UK performs all necessary translations. In the centre of the International Driver License we also provide a list of countries which signed United Nations Convention on Road Traffic and accept International Driver Licenses.

Whether you travel on BUSINESS, VACATION or HONEYMOON, the International Drivers License is recommended by most countries, and mandated by many; for driving and car or bike rental.
